The flower girl is usually between the ages of four and eight, depending on her level of maturity.
Some couples opt to have very young flower girls which can amazingly cute, but if you are the type of person who wants everything to run smoothly, you might want to pass on the cuteness factor. Not everything will go according to plan with young children involved.
During the processional, the flower girl walks ahead of the bride, scattering flower petals in her path or simply carries a pretty bouquet or basket. She should also be included in the wedding rehearsal so that she is comfortable with her role.
Most flower girls sit with their parents after completing their stroll although some couples opt to have them sit on the steps if there are any.
Her parents are expected to pay for her attire and arrange for her transportation.
